He who falls in love with himself will have no rivals.

This sculpture is just outside Christ Church in Philadelphia, where Benjamin Franklin is buried. I went to a page of famous Franklin quotes, and the man is really amazing. I'm sure he's not responsible for every quote attributed to him, but if even half are accurate he's brilliant and one of the most prolific writers in American history. My younger brother Mike is a big fan of Franklin. This picture was taken during Mike's visit last fall. It has inspired me to pick up Walter Isaacson's biography on Franklin, Benjamin Franklin; An American Life. Has anyone else read this?

  1. Did you watch this video?

I like the very first quote on the Famous Franklin Quotes page.

  2. Yeah, I watched it.

And how perfect is that quote for guys like you and Dinh? I don't know if cats are quite vicious enough though...maybe more like lions, tigers, or bears, oh my! Better yet piranhas or Tasmanian devils.

  3. A professor once told me a joke: A good case is one in which you know your client will probably win. A bad case is one in which you know your client will probably lose. The perfect case is one that is close enough that it will drag on for years and you can bill every minute of it.
