Na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye...

I saw this picture with the icicle melting and I had to post it. With highs in the 60's for the rest of the week, I think winter is finally loosing his wicked cold grip over the Mid Atlantic. The high for this Saturday is 66. Are you kidding me? I LOVE it. Goodbye winter, hello spring. How are things where you are?

  1. Wait a minute, you did not even take this pic?? What kind of blog it this? I hung in there and humored you when you thought you could drop the taking a picture a day thing. I thought this was about honing your craft. I must say on that end you did last longer than I. I stopped after 3 days because I forgot to take a picture the 4th. I feel like you have been phoning it in, giving us links to videos. I like to support to arts, but I think you are confusing this and the Xanga blog in terms of content. Bear down and get back to perfecting your ability.

  2. How dare you attack me like this. If I had more than 5 followers on this page, I would kick you out and ban you for life. Lucky for you, I can't afford to lose 20% of my supporters and one of the more prolific commentators.
First, to address whether or not I took the picture, I did in fact take it when I was back home. It was taken at Kieselberg Forest Preserve when I took Lucy on a walk. I have it saved on my computer with the other pictures I took that day.
In terms of honing my craft, I took a class on Sunday, will be back to take another class (as evidenced in my Xanga blog) and I am scheduling a 'photo safari' for which I have a gift certificate. I also stated in my first blog entry that there are three goals for this blog:
“My goals are to become a better photographer, to compile a collection of photographs, and to take some time each day to seek out and capture something interesting, beautiful, and engaging.” This picture, though not taken on the actual day it was posted, meets the first goal, “to compile a collection of photographs,” and the third goal of taking “time each day to seek out and capture something interesting, beautiful, and engaging.”
In response to your callous-bordering on libelous attack that I have been "phoning it in" I take great umbrage with that remark. I have, in fact, done precisely the opposite. Not only have I continued to offer new and dynamic photos for each and every day, but I have gone above and beyond that by offering Neanderthals such as you with additional forms of culture-be that a music clip, a hyperlink to an art installation, an intellectual look into Benjamin Franklin’s life, etc.

If you have no additional hate to spew, I bid you good day madam.

    I SAID GOOD DAY!
PS: Thanks for the comment and please keep them coming.

  4. Wow. This has turned into a most interesting thread. I think being raked over the coals brings out the best in you, J. I see Neko and Berkley as being kind of an Anderson Cooper: keeping you honest. I found your retort both eloquent and poignant.

    Great picture, by the way.

  6. After responding to Lori's, aka Neko and Berkley's, post I see how easy it is to get sucked into the blog comment vortex, in which one becomes overwhelmed with this holier than thou, pious, uber serious feeling.

PS-Kudos to the Lorenzen sisters for using my own work and words against me. The profile pictures you use are great and the insincere "SAHRRY!" stings even today. Touche ladies, well done.
